Egypt’s Simplex secures $13M to build factory in Saudi Arabia
Simplex manufactures CNC machines for more than 50 sectors across 21 countries
Egyptian CNC machine manufacturer Simplex has raised $13 million from Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Development Center to support the country’s push for localized advanced industries.
Expansion into Saudi Arabia
The funding will help establish a 20,000-square-meter factory in Riyadh to produce CNC machines. Simplex aims to begin operations in early 2026, though production capacity is yet to be finalized, according to chairman Ahmed Shaaban.
About Simplex
Founded in 2013 by Ahmed Shaaban, Mohamed Mansour, and Amr Othman, Simplex serves over 50 industries across 21 countries. Its product line includes routers, lasers, plasma cutters, fiber lasers, milling machines, and more.
What is CNC?
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) automates manufacturing using pre-programmed software to control machinery like lathes, mills, and drills. This enables precise and efficient production without manual operation.
Market Outlook
The CNC market is expanding alongside global industrial automation. Valued at $14.6 billion in 2018, it is projected to reach nearly $23 billion by 2026, according to Statista.
